We Believe...
If you’re new here, this is what we believe: We believe in a loving God who created and cares for all people and all things. We believe Jesus is God’s Son, who lived among us, showed us how to love, gave His life for us, and was raised to bring hope and new life to the world. We believe God’s Spirit is with us today—guiding us, offering comfort, and helping us grow in faith and community as we walk this journey together. Wherever you are on your faith journey, you are welcome here, and we invite you to join us as we learn, serve, and grow together.
A Rich Heritage
Founded 1938
St. Simons United Methodist Church was the first United Methodist congregation established on St. Simons Island, a place with deep Methodist roots dating back to the preaching of John and Charles Wesley. What began as a small, faithful gathering has grown alongside the island community, expanding its ministries, facilities, and worship offerings over the decades.
From the dedication of its first sanctuary in 1941 to the completion of the current sanctuary in 1981, the church has continually adapted to meet the needs of a growing congregation. Today, with multiple buildings, traditional and contemporary worship services and vibrant programs for all ages, St. Simons United Methodist Church remains a welcoming and active witness to Christ locally and beyond.
